Ports have long been economic gateways for cities, with over 90% of European ports being urban, from industrial hubs to small harbours, generating air pollutants and greenhouse gases. Decarbonising activities and controlling air pollution are now high priorities for operators, users, and stakeholders.

Solution

Clean Air and Clean Harbour Energy (CACHE Net Zero) is being co-funded by the European Space Agency under ARTES 4.0 Business Applications – Space Solutions.

CACHE Net Zero brings together UK and EU leading players in downstream space data intelligence (Geospatial Insight Ltd), air and carbon emissions modelling (Redshift Associates Ltd), and smart cities (BABLE GmBH).

CACHE Net Zero provides a platform for visualisation and tools for undertaking analytics that empower Port Authorities, Port Operators, and Shipping Operators to monitor and evaluate air pollution and carbon emissions, help them to minimise their environmental impacts, inform their Decarbonisation and Air Quality Strategies and keep track of their progress towards Port Net Zero and Port Clean Air goals.
