Emissions of greenhouse gases are the key driver of climate change. Identifying and monitoring the sources of these emissions, and measuring emission rates, are critical factors in creating actionable reduction strategies. This process is essential for developing effective policies and measures to mitigate the adverse effects on our climate, the environment and on public health.

As well as direct detection and monitoring of methane emissions from space, this capability also encompasses the ability to identify the sources and components of air pollution, monitor patterns and trends that may be affecting air quality levels and tracking the impact of actions and strategies aiming to improve air quality.
