CACHE 22 – A clean air and clean harbour initiative

The European Space Agency (ESA) launched their ‘Port of the Future’ initiative to address a number ecosystem challenges within ports across the world, whilst also utilising space-based data and services. ESA funded a total of nine studies, providing a solution to one of four key themes: environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, digitalisation, infrastructure improvement and safety and security services.

What are we expecting for Atlantic hurricane season 2021?

Atlantic Hurricane Season 2021 is now very much underway, with the official season kicking off on June 1st. Predictions across the board are anticipating another above-normal season, and similarities with last year’s activity can already been seen with the first named storm, Ana, forming before-schedule, on May 22nd.

With Hurricane Season 2021 fast approaching, it is hard not to anticipate another very active season, with trends from the last decade showing a dramatic increase in season length and in storm numbers and intensity.

A partnership to leverage worldwide intelligence

Capella Space launched its first operation satellite, Capella-2, in August 2020 and now provides very high resolution (50cm) SAR imagery for any location in the world. With access to high quality imagery, a critical component of the needs of Geospatial Insight’s extensive client base, the cementing of a reseller partnership with Capella, which was announced earlier this year, was an obvious decision to further extend our capabilities in the delivery of global event response and asset intelligence.
